People never read new blogs. I'm writing this today, knowing that anyone reading it will be at the end of a long archive binge in the far future, after I've figured out how to be a blogger and my art's got a lot better than it is now. Or at least I hope it has.

ReplyDeleteI am impressed by your eloquence, and even moreso by your art - even the paintings of humans/humanoid mythical creatures; despite your hair-splitting, they're still better than what I could do, and I draw people almost exclusively!
Although I found your blog through your Cake Wrecks plug (I absolutely adore that blog - I think Jen would love your cake), I'm fairly certain I am an ex-student of yours... small world if that is true.
Anyway, you have gained a new follower! I look forward to more of your posts, maybe I'll post a comment here again when you take "the interwebz" by storm and become a superstar [insert emoticon here]....

ReplyDeleteI've browsed through here, and am really impressed. Your art is astounding and I am so glad that you chose to share it. As a scientist, I can especially appreciate the attention to detail you've put into much of your work. And congratulations on your illustration being published.
This has almost gotten me back into fiddling with art. One day I hope that I can produce works like yours, and hey, maybe get published too? I still need a lot of practice but the first step is getting back into it, which I think your blog has done. Thank you!

Oh wow, I'm so happy I've inspired you to start getting into art again! Please do go for it, you have nothing to lose and a lot to gain. I don't know what kind of scientist you are, but in the case of the botanists I mainly work with, I feel that being able to draw really gives them an edge over the ones who can't. Now I'm going to be wondering which of the forum people you are :)
