Out of the attic: Lotus flower

Just a simple chalk pastel drawing from way back. Did you know that the lotus is most closely related to proteas and plane trees, and not at all to waterlilies?

  1. I am not particulary fond of plants - I find them sort of creepy and alien - and this post has two of the worst ones! Waterlillies make my teeth feel funny, and while it may be more down to a touch of trypophobia, I can't stand lotus pods…. The picture, however, is brilliant, and it's always interesting looking back at old art! :)

  2. Aaaaah! Don't do that! ;P That urbandictionary entry just freaked me out so badly - talk about teeth feeling funny. Could have been worse I suppose...but please let's not go there...

Changing the subject, I'll post something non-plant-related next time. Promise.

  4. Ahaha! I'm sorry, I couldn't resist. At least I'm not alone now, though :P . Don't be silly, you can put up a plant-related post - this is your blog anyway…lol.

  5. How interesting...and how apt too. Your chakras are described as spinning wheels that look like lotus flowers....makes sense now that we would hug a tree, feels more at home that hugging a water lilly :-)

  6. Yes, that would be somewhat damp and awkward ;)
